Power to the Pedal This was a wonderful experience. Neither of us had previously ridden eBikes and so we relished the chance to ride them while we explored Auckland. Carson welcomed us at the hotel and then fitted us with suitable bikes. The six people in the group had various levels of fitness and cycling experience.We spent a little time learning how to operate the bikes (simple really - a few minutes in the hotel parking garage and we were very comfortable with the throttles and assistance from the motors). After that, we were off on our 29 km tour, up and down hills, usually on bike paths or bike lanes. We stopped at several spots to explore and learn about the history or significance of each. Carson was very knowledgeable and always ensured every group member was comfortable. He also adjusted the pace as needed and reminded many of us to ride on the left side of a road. We felt very safe all the time. The route was adjusted to avoid traffic and heavy construction downtown. After the ride, we were sent a link to access several group photos taken at various points of the tour and there was also a link that showed our route, elevation and speed as recorded on GPS. The only downside is that now we will likely need to buy our own electric bikes. 😉 We highly recommend this tour. Also posted to Tripadvisor
