Tonight, we are in the small community of St Barbe, home to a ferry that crosses the Strait of Belle Isle and lands in Blanc Sablon QC which is just south of Labrador. Had we stuck to our original plan, we would have crossed here from Labrador a few days ago. However, here we are. Our pre-dinner entertainment involved watching the double-ended/drive on - drive off ferry disgorge its passengers and take on a new load before sailing off.

Silly interprovincial alcohol sales/transport rules! This is the first time I have ever seen them detailed on a provincial border entry point. Aren’t there bigger things to worry about than an extra 2-4 of beer in your trunk?

For the second night in a row, we are pretty much the only people in a campground. Last night, in Trout River, another couple drove in after dark and slept in a glamping tent but we were the only recreational vehicle. Tonight, until just as I write this, there was only an unaccompanied trailer in this campground. However, a large motorhome just joined us. We didnt get the best sleep last night due to the high wind - our motorhome was pitching all night. Fortunately, the wind abated late morning and we were able to get out of the valley where we stayed.
